Golden hour at Kashid Beach

A beach pre-wedding on the Konkan coast: what to wear, when to shoot and why the waves are the best director.

Groom kneeling to propose to his bride on Kashid Beach at sunset

There is something about the sea that makes couples forget the camera. Shreya and Shikhar walked into the water within five minutes, and after that I barely had to say a word.

Shoot the last hour of light

On the Konkan coast the sun sets over the water, so the last hour before sunset turns everything warm and hazy. We start an hour and a half before sunset and keep going until the colour is gone.

Colours that love the sea

Soft blues, whites, blush and sand tones melt into the sky and the water. Shreya and Shikhar matched in powder blue, and it reads beautifully against the golden light.

Not every love needs grand words. Some are felt in silences, in smiles, in the way two souls just fit.
